Bulgaria and Jordan will co-chair a high-level meeting in Sofia as part of the Aqaba Process Initiative. At the invitation of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, heads of state, government officials, intergovernmental organisations and non-governmental organisations will meet in early April to discuss the security climate, with a special focus on the Balkans.

The Aqaba Process, launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan, aims to enhance global coordination and cooperation in the fight against terrorism. The Sofia Forum will bring together leaders from Southeast Europe and institutional representatives to analyze security challenges in the Balkans, discuss regional mechanisms for information sharing, and coordinate efforts to combat irregular migration, terrorism, radicalization, and extremism.

The Aqaba Process for the Balkans III Forum follows previous meetings held in Aqaba, Jordan, in 2016 and in Tirana, Albania, in 2018.
