The second-largest thermal power plant in Bulgaria, ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3, will retain its employees at this stage. This was what the executive director of the power plant, Vasil Shtonov, told BNR Stara Zagora. Today, the private company, in which the state has a 27% stake, was expected to lay off 130 out of a total of 160 employees.

He added that this depended on the electricity market and the dialogue with the state. According to media and parliamentary appearances by Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov, the state is looking for a solution for the plant.
