The government will remain intolerant of any form of corruption. This was what Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said from the parliamentary rostrum regarding the investigation by the European Public Prosecutor's Office into the expansion of the Chiren underground gas storage facility.

According to Zhelyazkov, no damage has been established for Chiren, because no payments have been made. Whether there were preparations for this is subject of the investigation. "The job of both the European Public Prosecutor's Office and the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria is to investigate relevant acts and, if they are substantial, to bring charges against specific individuals," Zhelyazkov added.
