Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil met yesterday with Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad - Chief Advisor to King Abdullah II for Religious and Cultural Affairs, the Bulgarian Patriarchate reported. The prince is part of the official delegation of the King of Jordan, who is on a visit to Bulgaria.

"The fact that Christians living in Jordan, as well as those visiting the country, feel in a friendly environment and are well received shows a lot," Patriarch Daniil says.

Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad made an official invitation to Patriarch Daniil to visit the country. The possibility of establishing a Bulgarian pilgrimage center to help compatriots visiting historical and religious sites in Jordan was also discussed.

The two agreed that interfaith dialogue and understanding are of key importance in building society and are an important element of it.

After the meeting, Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad visited the "St. Alexander Nevsky" Cathedral and the ancient church of "St. Sophia", where he expressed his admiration for the architecture of the temples, as well as the history they preserve.
