Burgas will host the 16th edition of Sauvignon Selection, a major segment of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and one of the most prestigious independent wine competitions in the world. Over 1,000 Sauvignon Blanc wines from all over the world will compete for medals, judged by an international panel of experts.

For the first time, wines from 26 countries are participating in a competition dedicated exclusively to Sauvignon Blanc. Bulgarian wineries have shown record interest this year, with 56 entries from Bulgaria alone.

Although a closed event, Sauvignon Selection in the town of Burgas attracts the attention of wine connoisseurs and collectors worldwide. It also strengthens Bulgaria's image as a premium wine destination - a development that has a positive impact on the country's tourism.

Founded 30 years ago by a Belgian media company, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has established itself as the largest international competition for red and white wines. Renowned for its extremely high professional standards, the event is held in countries with rich winemaking traditions such as France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Portugal and others. Last year the special section for Sauvignon Blanc was held in Austria, reports travelnews.bg.

For the first time in the history of Sauvignon Selection by CMB, Bulgaria will host the prestigious competition. The 2025 Sauvignon Selection by CMB will be held in Burgas from 11 to 13 April.
