BOC sends Easter message to believers in and outside the homeland

The Bulgarian Orthodox Church, headed by Patriarch of Bulgaria and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil and members of the Holy Synod, sent a patriarchal and synodal Easter message to Christian believers.

"May the joy of the news of Christ's Resurrection be with us unchangingly - as the Savior Himself tells us in the Holy Gospel and as His apostles repeatedly tell us: "Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I will say: Rejoice... the Lord is near" (Phil. 4:4-5). Even in the deepest sorrow, hopelessness and despair - rejoice! Even in moments of doubt and the most severe trials - rejoice! Even faced with all the apparent power and omnipotence of evil - rejoice! For, as the Church solemnly rejoices today, "Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and on those in the tombs bestowing life! " (Paschal Troparion)," the message reads. It congratulates "all the faithful children of our holy Church - within the borders of our Motherland and far from it - on the feast of Christ's Resurrection, with wishes for peace and joy in Christ the Lord, Risen from the dead."
