Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov has met with Ambassador of India to Bulgaria, Arun Kumar Sahu, and discussed the possibilities for deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

"India is a key partner for Bulgaria in the Asia-Pacific region. Expanding our bilateral relations is among Bulgaria's main foreign policy priorities towards the region," Zafirov said. He expects the countries to strengthen economic exchange and synergy, in the context of the prospects for an EU-India Free Trade Agreement by the end of 2025.

Zafirov thanked Delhi for granting full scholarships to Bulgarian specialists in various fields, including under the Technical and Economic Cooperation program and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
