PP points out corruption as a distinctive feature of the government in its first 100 days

“We Continue the Change” (PP) highlighted corruption as one of the main shortcomings of the hundred days of government of GERB, “BSP – United Left” and ITN. PP has not cancelled plans of filing a vote of no confidence after Bulgaria receives the convergence report on entry into the eurozone, it becomes clear from a position sent to the media.

“Within the first 100 days of the new ruling majority’s work, Bulgaria has sharply recalled the period before 2020, when corruption flourished, tax money was distributed to those close to power, and the entire state machine served a few people at the top. There is nothing new in Borisov’s new government, except that the party of his eternal partner Peevski is now called New Beginning,” the document reads.

According to PP, the ruling majority has adopted the most inflated budget in our recent history with 19 billion BGN of debt instead of the required 12 billion BGN; it has created a “black fund” of 2.5 billion BGN in the central budget for distribution through the Council of Ministers without control by the National Assembly; it has directed an additional 7 billion to state-owned companies and structures, which will be spent without accountability and transparency. In addition, the majority has put billions of European funds at risk; the key anti-corruption laws for receiving the second payment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan are being deliberately delayed; corruption schemes in road construction have also returned.
