After the end of Pope Francis’ funeral ceremony at the Vatican, which was attended by leaders from all over the world, Bulgarian PM Rosen Zhelyazkov noted that Pope Francis had preached peace, justice, equality and fraternity among people.

“He wanted the church to be among the people, to preach for the people, and about all problems humanity is now experiencing. He addressed all suffering,” added the Bulgarian prime minister who headed the Bulgarian delegation to Pope Francis’ funeral services.

“Pope Francis tried to break the ice and advocated for religions to “speak the same language”, said on his part Father Ivan Ivanov, church administrator of the Bulgarian Orthodox communities in Italy and Malta and chairman of the Seven Saints Bulgarian Orthodox church municipality, and went on to describe the visit Pope Francis paid to Bulgaria and his respect for religious peace in this country.
