The overall business climate indicator in Bulgaria has increased in April by 1.1 points compared to March to a level of 21.5, the National Statistical Institute announced. An improvement in the indicator was registered in industry by 4.8 points to 19.3. Due to expected low activity and increase in the prices of materials in construction, a decrease in business expectations was observed by 2.5 points to 21.7. A decrease in the business climate was also recorded in the services sector by 1.7 points to 10.7. In retail trade, the indicator remained at the March level of 36.5 points.

As the main problems facing business development in the country, entrepreneurs point out the shortage of labor, the uncertain economic environment and competition.

Regarding the movement of selling prices, only representatives of retail trade expect an increase in the coming months.
