Yellow code alert for intense rainfall across the country on Wednesday

Overnight, cumulonimbus clouds will develop over the western half of the country, bringing intense short-term rain showers in some areas. Hail is also possible. By Wednesday morning, the rainfall is expected to reach the eastern regions as well. The lowest temperatures will range between 9°C and 14°C, around 10°C in Sofia. During the day, after a temporary cessation of precipitation, rain clouds will develop again around midday. There will be significant local precipitation and hail in many areas. A moderate westerly-northwesterly wind will bring in cooler air. Daytime highs will range between 21°C and 26°C, about 21°C in Sofia.

Rain clouds will develop in the mountains. Short rain showers with thunderstorms are expected in many areas. Significant localized rainfall and hail are expected mainly in the massifs of Western and Central Bulgaria. Maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 meters 17°C, at 2,000 meters around 9°C.

Along the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy with afternoon showers. Daytime highs will range between 17°C and 22°C. Sea water temperature will be between 13°C and 15°C. Sea state 1–2 on the Beaufort scale.

On Thursday, the rainfall will continue. In Northern Bulgaria, it will be more widespread and heavier, accompanied by thunderstorms. The lowest temperatures will range between 8°C and 13°C. Maximum temperatures will be between 20°C and 25°C.
