Stara Zagora State Opera Orchestra to perform Gershwin's music in Sofia's Bulgaria Hall

The concert is part of the theatre's centenary celebrations

In 2025 Bulgaria's oldest opera house outside the capital, the Stara Zagora Opera, will celebrate its centenary with a series of remarkable projects. One of them is the concert of the theatre's symphony orchestra with emblematic compositions of George Gershwin on May 10 at 7 pm at the Bulgaria Hall in Sofia. The programme includes "Cuban Overture", "Rhapsody in Blue" and "Porgy and Bess: A Symphonic Picture".

The concert will feature renowned jazz pianist Konstantin Kostov as special guest soloist and will be conducted by Ivaylo Krinchev, Chief Conductor of the Stara Zagora State Opera.

The George Gershwin concert was enthusiastically received in Stara Zagora. The participation of the Stara Zagora Opera Orchestra in Sofia is organised jointly with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and is the result of a long-term partnership and cooperation between the two institutions.
