The FameLab International Science Communication Competition aims to discover, train and give a platform to the world’s most promising new scientists. The competition was created in 2005 by the Cheltenham Science Festival, the largest and most prestigious science festival in the UK. In 2007, the competition went international through a partnership with the British Council. Bulgaria was among the first of over 35 countries worldwide to organize its own national competition.
The final of the 2025 FameLab Bulgaria competition will be held on May 11, the Beautiful Science Foundation said. The event is part of the 16th Sofia Science Festival. After five rounds held across Bulgaria, including one at the Bulgarian Antarctic Base on Livingston Island, 12 finalists have been selected to present their three-minute stories from various fields of science. One of them will have the opportunity to represent Bulgaria at the international final at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in November.
