Prime Minister Zhelyazkov optimistic about the convergence report on the euro

At a briefing before leaving for the summit of the European Political Community in Tirana, Albania, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov thanked the pro-European majority in the National Assembly. He recalled that all governments since 1997 have steadfastly followed the line of Bulgaria completing its European integration. 


"At the moment, the Bulgarian government knows what it is doing, because it knows where we are going. We are moving towards increasing the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy," said Zhelyazkov. 

"When we receive a positive assessment of the convergence report, we will come up with a number of measures to implement the principles for introducing the euro - consumer protection, information and efficiency, we will propose changes that should bring reassurance to Bulgarian society, we will introduce control mechanisms that will enable effective compliance with the legislation and prevent speculation and speculation," the Prime Minister assured.
