Weather forecast for 21 May

Patchy clouds and sun, showers mainly in the west

On Wednesday, minimum temperatures will range from 8 to 14°C. In Sofia, it will be around 8°C. During the day, cloud cover will increase from west to east, with light rain possible in some western areas before noon. There is a heightened probability of hail. Maximum temperatures will range from 22 to 27°C; in the capital, it will be around 23°C.


There will be broken cloud cover in the mountains before noon. The clouds will thicken in the afternoon, with showers and thunderstorms expected in the western massifs. There will be a moderate to strong south-westerly wind. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 metres will be around 17°C, and around 10°C at 2,000 metres.


The Black Sea coast will be sunny with scattered clouds and a moderate southeasterly wind. Maximum air temperatures will range from 18 to 23 °C. The water temperature will be between 12 and 17°C. The sea will be mostly calm.


On Thursday, there will be sunny spells across most of the country, as well as scattered clouds and showers with thunder, mainly in northern Bulgaria and the mountainous areas. Temperatures will rise further, reaching 25-30°C.
