Weather forecast for 22 May

Expect more sunshine, rain, and unsettled weather

On Thursday, lows will be between 9 and 13°C, reaching 9°C in Sofia. It will be mostly sunny during the day, but the atmosphere will be unstable with the development of cumuliform clouds around noon. Rain is expected, and thunderstorms and hail are also forecast in some areas. Maximum temperatures will range from 21 to 26°C, reaching around 23°C in Sofia.


Cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will form over the mountains. Short-lived rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms are expected. There will be a moderate to strong south-westerly wind. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 metres will be around 17°C, and at 2,000 metres it will be around 9°C.


The Black Sea coast will be sunny, with occasional cloud and local showers. A light to moderate southeasterly wind will blow. Maximum air temperatures will reach 20–25 °C. The sea temperature will range from 11 to 16°C. The sea state will be 2–3.


On Friday, the weather will remain unstable. Most of the country will experience sunny spells followed by cloudy skies, showers and thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures on Friday will range from 25 to 30°C.
