The Bulgarian team secured a 1–0 victory over Slovakia in their third Group D match. The only goal of the match was scored by Nikolay Ivanov in the 34th minute. With two wins and one loss, Bulgaria finished second in the group standings with 6 points. Portugal took the top spot with 9 points after three consecutive victories.
