PP accuses the ruling coalition of preparing electricity price hike

Photo: library

The ruling coalition is preparing electricity price hike despite assurances that there would be no change for consumers, “We Continue the Change” (PP) say, BTA reports.

The document highlights the assurances of the ruling coalition that the liberalization of the electricity market for household consumers is being postponed and only the methodology for determining the price is being changed. At the same time, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission announced its proposal for the price of household electricity and heating to increase by about 5% on average for the country from July 1.

From this date, the entire model for determining the price for household electricity is changing, but everything was again left for the last moment, the PP states. According to the party, the first actions of the newly appointed commission show that it is working on command and without a clear vision for the future. Therefore, they insist on an active mechanism to support energy-poor and vulnerable households, BNR informs.
