The Speaker of the National Assembly, Natalia Kiselova, is on a working visit to Albania to participate in the Parliamentary Assembly of the South East European Cooperation Process, at which the Bulgarian Parliament will assume the presidency of the organization for a period of one year, the parliament's press service reported. At a meeting with the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, Kiselova stressed that Bulgaria consistently supports Albania in the process of European integration.

She also expressed confidence that the two countries will continue to work together for the accelerated construction of Corridor VIII.

"There is untapped potential related to contacts between business representatives, the promotion of Bulgarian goods on the Albanian market and vice versa, as well as the promotion of active forms of investment cooperation, the exchange of information on public procurement in the field of infrastructure, construction, energy," Kiselova believes. She emphasized that one of the most dynamically developing sectors in bilateral relations is tourism, important both for the economy and for the rapprochement between the two peoples.

Natalia Kiselova also emphasized the Bulgarian national minority in Albania as an important bridge of friendship and a factor in strengthening mutual trust between the two countries.

"Bulgaria appreciates all the efforts that Albania has made to protect the rights of minorities with the Law on the Protection of National Minorities adopted in 2017," emphasized Natalia Kiselova.
