Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone is approved by 46.5% of Bulgarian citizens

Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone is approved by 46.5% of citizens and 66.3% of businesses, according to a survey by the Alfa Research agency. 46.8% of citizens and 33.6% of businesses disapprove. 6.7% of citizens cannot judge.

In November 2022, approval was 32.8% among citizens and 64.3% among businesses. 50.4% of citizens and 33.3% of businesses were rather or not at all disapproving. 16.8% of citizens and 2.4% of businesses indicated that they could not judge.

In April of this year, 38% of citizens and 57% of businesses responded that the effects would be positive, and 53.4% ​​of citizens and 36% of businesses - negative.

In the long term, the effects will be entirely or rather positive according to 48% of citizens and 60% of businesses in May 2025. 

The study commissioned by the Ministry of Finance also shows a prevailing fear among citizens of price increases and inflation with the introduction of the euro, BTA reports.
