The Bulgarian Embassy in Israel said on its Facebook page that due to the situation in the country, the extended state of emergency and the instructions issued by the Israel Defense Forces, the Embassy’s Consular Service in Tel Aviv is suspending its regular reception of citizens until Wednesday, June 17.

The Consular Office remains available via the emergency phone numbers: +972 54 595 4379 and +972 54 463 4003, as well as via email: Consulate.TelAviv@mfa.bg.

The Bulgarian diplomatic mission reiterates its advice to Bulgarian citizens in Israel to remain calm, stay vigilant and strictly follow the instructions of the Israeli authorities—particularly regarding the use of shelters.

Around 50 Bulgarian citizens have requested evacuation from Israel due to the tensions in the Middle East, said Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev. The people requesting evacuation are not part of a compact group but are located in various parts of the country. Georg Georgiev said that there is no immediate danger to the staff at the Bulgarian embassy, who chose to remain on-site, as every building in Israel is equipped with a bomb shelter. In Minister Georgiev’s words, Bulgaria remains in constant contact with its embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran, staying updated on developments on the ground, reported Radio Plovdiv.
