An elderly Israeli woman with Bulgarian roots died in an Iranian missile attack which hit a residential building in the Israeli city of Bat Yam a day ago, BNR correspondents in Israel Fenya and Iskra Dekalo reported. At the moment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has no information about a dead Bulgarian citizen or injured Bulgarians in Israel, Nikolina Kuneva, Ambassador at Large in the Middle East and Africa Directorate and former Ambassador of Bulgaria to Tehran, announced at a briefing in connection with the conflict between Israel and Iran.

The coordination center, formed by order of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov due to the situation in the Middle East, is in constant contact with embassies and other institutions related to what is happening.

According to Kuneva, requests for evacuation from Israel have been made by over 50 people. "We are in the process of assessing the most appropriate time to implement the evacuation plans. For us, safety is the priority, not time and speed, as the situation is very complicated," Kuneva said, BTA reported.
Regarding Iran, Kuneva pointed out that the Bulgarian community in Iran is no more than 50 people. Lists of those wishing to evacuate will be created when there is a possibility of such an evacuation, she added.

11 Bulgarian citizens who requested evacuation from Jordan have already returned to Bulgaria.
