Bulgaria meets the requirements for joining the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in the field of education. This is stated in the presented report of the OECD Education Policy Committee, which came out with a positive decision to complete its technical review of Bulgaria.
The organization recognizes Bulgaria's progress in educational reforms in terms of access to education, the introduction of competency-based education and increasing the attractiveness of the teaching profession, Director for Education and Skills at OECD, Andreas Schleicher, said at a conference in Sofia, BTA reports.
The OECD recommends that Bulgaria should overcome the regional socio-economic inequalities between students, which were identified in the PISA study in 2022.
