The Bulgarian Literary Circle in Vienna is organising a special event featuring Veselka Marinova, author of the book "Kupa s kamacheta" (A Bowl of Pebbles), its team told BTA. Described as a “special surprise”, the event marks the end of the season.
The idea behind “A Bowl of Pebbles” is far from random. Drawing on her long career in journalism, the author takes readers on a journey through various countries and events. The characters in these emotionally charged documentary stories are real people who face challenges, triumphs and setbacks wherever they may be in the world, the Circle notes.
The title of the book is symbolic, reflecting the diversity of life, events, facts and people woven through its pages — like a collection of colourful pebbles. Starting in Bulgaria, Veselka Marinova takes readers on a journey through Japan, the US, Georgia and the UK, spending more time in Austria, where she has lived for over 25 years.
The book presentation will take place on 25 June at 19:00 local time at the club venue on Kühnplatz 7. Attendees will have the chance to get to know the author’s work, ask questions, and take part in informal discussions over a glass of wine with both familiar faces and new acquaintances.
