Vice President Iliana Yotova to deliver a lecture at Jagiellonian University in Krakow

At the invitation of Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest universities in Europe, founded in 1364, Vice President Iliana Yotova will be in Krakow, Poland on 24 and 25 June.


Yotova will deliver a lecture entitled History, Culture and Education Bring Bulgaria and Poland Together to students from various disciplines, including Bulgarian Studies. The lecture will focus on Bulgaria's significant role in preserving the work of Cyril and Methodius, and in spreading literacy, spirituality, and culture throughout the Slavic world. It will also commemorate two significant anniversaries: 1170 years since the creation of the Glagolitic alphabet, and 1160 years since the Bulgarian people converted to Christianity.
