Students from the Vasil Aprilov Bulgarian Sunday School in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, learned about the life and art of Vladimir Dimitrov – the Master, BTA reports. During the lesson, the children viewed various paintings by the Master and then attempted to create their own artistic interpretations on the theme 'Bulgarian women in the world of the Master'.
In the second part of the lesson, they took part in a workshop on weaving rugs from multicoloured yarn.
BTA recalls that the Bulgarian Sunday School ‘Vasil Aprilov’ in Charlotte is the first licensed Bulgarian school in North and South Carolina. Founded on 4 October 2009 by Galina Mandeva-Yordanova and Albena Radeva, it was established as a centre for the Bulgarian community, with the aim of preserving the Bulgarian language and culture. The school follows the Bulgarian education system's curriculum and uses teaching aids approved by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science.
