Weather forecast for 28 June

Temperatures will drop slightly

Cool air will sweep across the country during the night, accompanied by moderate winds from the northwest. Short-lived rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the western, northern and mountainous areas. Hailstorms are possible.


On Saturday, the wind will shift to the north-northeast, strengthening temporarily in eastern Bulgaria and bringing cooler air. There will be significant cloud cover, mainly cumulus and cumulonimbus. Rain showers with thunderstorms are expected in many places, particularly in the eastern half of the country and in mountainous areas. Conditions for hailstorms will persist. Maximum temperatures will range from 27°C to 32°C, reaching up to 34°C in southern areas and around 29°C in Sofia.


Along the Black Sea coast, cloud cover will increase with showers and thunderstorms in many places. There will be a moderate to strong north-northeasterly wind. Maximum temperatures will range from 26°C to 29°C. The sea temperature will be between 24°C and 26°C. The sea will be a 2 on the Beaufort scale.


In the mountains, significant cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will form, bringing short showers and thunderstorms. A moderate to strong north-westerly wind will blow, shifting to north-north-east during the day. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 metres will be around 22°C and around 15°C at 2,000 metres.
