Parliamentary groups comment on the country's accession to the Eurozone

Full EU membership is neither the end of the story nor a solution to all problems. Realism and accurate self-assessment must guide important decisions, said MP Toma Bikov on behalf of the GERB-SDS parliamentary group after Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone.

The Eurozone cannot solve serious government deficits, nor can they be ignored. However, the euro gives us another chance to live in a true constitutional state, said MP Nadezhda Yordanova of We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria. The battle for independent judicial and regulatory bodies continues, she added.

Bulgaria will be removed from the eurozone and forced to blow up the European financial system. From today onwards, the European Commission is the enemy of the Bulgarian people, said Kostadin Kostadinov, leader of the Vazrazhdane party, from the parliamentary rostrum. He urged people not to keep their money in banks and to pay in cash only. The eurozone is the Titanic, he said, sinking to the bottom. Those who put us there will be held responsible, Kostadinov warned.
