The Embassy of Bulgaria in USA hosted a Fulbright alumni reception. For over three decades, the Fulbright Program has played a pivotal role in fostering educational and cultural ties between Bulgaria and the United States.

''Thanks to the longstanding efforts of the Fulbright Commission, approximately 20 Bulgarian grantees travel to the United States each year. The program includes a wide spectrum of participants — from students and doctoral researchers to university professors, scientists, teachers and civil society representatives'', the Embassy of Bulgaria in USA wrote on Facebook.

The event opened with remarks by Stefka Yovcheva, Chargé d'Affaires at the Bulgarian Embassy, who ''highlighted the Fulbright Program’s lasting contribution to the development of Bulgarian-American relations, underscoring its value as a trusted and effective platform for dialogue in the fields of education, science and culture''.

Angela Rodel, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission in Bulgaria, also addressed the audience. ''A prominent translator and advocate for Bulgarian culture abroad, Angela Rodel arrived in Bulgaria in 1996 from Yale University to study Bulgarian philology at Sofia University. Her personal and professional journey stands as a powerful illustration of how academic and cultural exchange can evolve into enduring friendship, long-term cooperation and shared respect between our two nations'', wrote the Embassy of Bulgaria in USA.
