On Defence Industry Day, 16 July, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed between the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, and the Ministry of Innovation and Growth with the defence industry.

“This memorandum will improve coordination and the capabilities of our industry to rearm the country’s armed forces,” Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov said at a briefing a few days ago. Minister Zapryanov stated that an analysis is currently underway of the use of the EU’s financial instrument SAFE for financing the modernization of the Bulgarian armed forces. “Important decisions are to be made by the government soon,” he said.
