The confiscation of cars driven by drunk and drugged drivers does not contradict the Bulgarian Constitution. This was decided by the Constitutional Court.

The cars of those who drove after using alcohol and drugs, if they are their property, will be confiscated on the spot, and if they are not, their equivalent will be paid.

On this issue, the Constitutional Court was referred to by the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Cassation and the judge from the Svilengrad District Court Dobrinka Kireva.

However, the decision was made on the verge of a majority - seven of the constitutional judges were "in favor", and the remaining five - with a "special opinion", reported BNR.
