Elections can be talked about when there is a political alternative, and currently there is none. This was stated in response to a journalist's question about the possibility of early elections in the context of the case with the mayor of Varna by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov during his visit to the 24th Krumovo Air Base.

There, he checked the readiness of the Armed Forces to respond to fires and other disaster situations.

The Prime Minister commented that the BG-Alert early warning system is working. He called on the regional governors of 67 municipalities that have not yet undergone the necessary training to do so. Zhelyazkov specifically highlighted the assistance that the Armed Forces provide in dealing with fires, especially in hard-to-reach forest areas in the mountains.

Unfortunately, 95% of fire cases are due to human activity - negligence, mistake or intent, he noted.
