Medical University Sofia has been ranked as the best university in Bulgaria according to the 2025–2026 Best Global Universities ranking by U.S. News & World Report. With a global score of 38.1, Medical University Sofia is ranked No 1144. The university is ranked No 355 in Clinical Medicine.
Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” is the other Bulgarian university included in the global ranking, ranked No 1226 with a global score of 36.7. Now in its 11th year, the ranking provides information on how universities compare globally. Medical University Sofia has appeared in the ranking for nearly a decade. The higher education institution that attracts the highest number of foreign students in the country is ranked No 400 in Best Global Universities in Europe, reported BTA.
The ranking includes the top 2,250 universities selected from over 100 countries around the world.
