''At least 870 people could benefit from the 'I Choose Bulgaria' initiative, which aims to attract them back to Bulgaria from abroad. Most of them will probably return with their families'', said Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy Natalia Efremova in an interview with BTA. 1,170 people are expected to benefit from the measures providing employment and support for living in a town with less than 50,000 residents, Natalia Efremova added. The measure is funded by the Human Resources Development Programme. Applications will open in September.

“With the 'I Choose Bulgaria' initiative, we have tried to cover a large part of the process and organization around a person’s relocation—from transporting household goods to settling in and finding a job. We have even considered the adaptation of family members who are not Bulgarian citizens but want to find work here”, Deputy Minister Efremova explained.

To be eligible for support, applicants must meet one of two requirements: either they must have lived abroad for 12 of the past 18 months, or they must have recently completed their education abroad.
