NSI: 52.2% of the unemployed in Bulgaria have secondary education

According to the National Statistical Institute, the number of unemployed people in the second quarter of 2025 was 110,500


Of these, 55.0% (60,800) were men and 45.0% (49,700) were women. The unemployment rate was 3.6%, which is 0.7% lower than in Q2 of 2024. There were 46,800 long-term unemployed people (those unemployed for one year or more). The long-term unemployment rate was 1.5%. 13.4% of the unemployed have higher education, 52.2% have secondary education, and 34.4% have primary or lower education.


The employment rate for the 15–64 age group is 71.0%, which is unchanged compared to the same quarter of 2024.
