The average pension in Bulgaria exceeds 1000 BGN (511 EUR)

After the update of pensions under the so-called Swiss rule from July 1 by 8.6%, the average monthly pension of a Bulgarian pensioner for July exceeded 1,000 BGN, reaching 1015.22 BGN (519 EUR). This was announced by the National Social Security Institute.

Compared to the same month in 2024, the average pension increased by 81.28 BGN (42 EUR), or 8.7%.

The number of pensioners for July 2025 is 2,057,397 people, which is an increase of 0.6% compared to the same month last year (according to the latest data from the National Social Security Institute, the population of Bulgaria is 6,437,360 people).
