Levski Sofia lost 0:2 to AZ Alkmaar in a UEFA Conference League play-off match. Levski played at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia in front of nearly 31,000 fans of the team.
Ibrahim Sadiq scored the first goal in the 56th minute. The second goal came from Troy Parrott six minutes later. Levski had 53% ball possession, but the Dutch side had twice as many shots on target – 5 to 2.
The second leg will take place in a week in Alkmaar, where the team that qualifies for the main phase of the Conference League will be determined.
