On August 23, the First Bulgarian School in Stockholm "Yan Bibiyan" will open its doors for the new school year 2025/2026. The institution announced this on its Facebook page. "Language, traditions and friendships, all in one place!" - this is what the management of the school promises to the Bulgarian children in Stockholm and their parents.

The First Bulgarian School in Stockholm opened its doors for the first time in 2013. Its main goals are to give Bulgarian children in Sweden the opportunity to study the Bulgarian language and culture, as well as to support their communication with other children to build Bulgarian self-awareness and identity.

In the Saturday school, children attend lessons in the Bulgarian language, homeland and folk songs and dances. The children are divided into three age groups: Group I "Chickens" (for children 3-5 years old), Group II "Storks" (for children 5-7 years old) and Group III "Hawks" (for children 8+ years old).
