The leader of the GERB party Boyko Borisov met in Düsseldorf with the CEO of the defense concern Rheinmetall Armin Paperger.

During the conversation, it became clear that in the next three weeks the contracts for the establishment of a joint venture of a Bulgarian enterprise with Rheinmetall for the construction of two plants in Bulgaria should be prepared, BNR Horizont reported.

""Rheinmetall will build together with Bulgaria at least two plants in Bulgaria as soon as possible. The first of them will be for artillery shells. Even more important is our joint venture for gunpowder," said Armin Paperger - CEO of the German arms concern. He indicated that the total investment will be worth over 1 billion euros.

The GERB leader indicated that the gunpowder plant will be the largest in Europe. "This is the most scarce commodity at the moment and I am extremely grateful to Mr. Paperger, to his guys who were in Bulgaria, for choosing the VMZ plant site for this huge plant," Borisov noted.
