Customs officers thwart smuggling of gold and silver jewelry at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint

During two separate inspections on August 22, 2025, smuggled gold and silver items worth a total of 313,946 leva (over 150 thousand euros) were seized by the police. They were transported in a passenger car and a bus entering the country from Turkey.

The smuggled items were seized. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the cases by an investigating customs inspector under the supervision of the Haskovo District Prosecutor's Office.
