The government is planning to create a public e-register of all amusement activities that will put in place regulations, Deputy PM and Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadzhov announced, after an 8-year old boy died in a parasailing accident in Nessebar 10 days ago.
The draft bill, work on which is currently ongoing, introduces daily and weekly checks of the equipment and the drafting of a plan for their safety.
“We are proposing insurance for every amusement activity and a declaration describing all risks. Before opening the amusement activity in question, companies will check whether the equipment is in working order. We are introducing criminal liability for sham control of amusement activities, as well as a ban on individuals under 18 operating jets,” Minister Karadzhov said in an interview with Nova TV, and added that on 4 September he would submit, to the National Assembly, amendments to the civil aviation act, by force of which fines for airline companies and terrestrial operators will be increased 10-fold. there has been a growing number of reports of service irregularities at Vasil Levski airport in Sofia, he said further.
