59% Bulgarians view the future of the European Union with optimism, according to a new Eurobarometer survey, cited by BTA.
According to 56% of Bulgarians, the European Union’s role in addressing global threats will grow. 81% of them believe that member states should be more united in facing common challenges.
62% of respondents in Bulgaria say that EU actions affect their daily lives, with roughly half describing that influence as positive. 58% believe that Bulgaria benefits from being a member of the European Union. 47% of respondents identify better job opportunities as the main benefit.
49% of Bulgarians express the opinion that the EU is moving in the right direction. However, 50% of Bulgarians think their own country is not headed in the right direction. 43% of Bulgarians expect their standard of living to remain unchanged over the next five years.
