On 3 October at 7 p.m., Bulgaria Hall in Sofia will host a grand charity gala concert called 'Esperanza for Life', organised by the Theodora von Auersperg (TvA) International Foundation. The event is part of the 2025 Sofia Music Weeks, and proceeds from ticket sales will go towards two causes. The first will support the Community Support Centre in Pernik, run by SOS Children's Villages Bulgaria, which helps children and families at risk. The second will fund the construction of the first holistic centre of its kind to help children and stray animals in need, also called Esperanza for Life.
The event's musical director is pianist Nadezhda Tzanova. Participants in this star-studded event include the renowned Vanya Moneva folk choir, pianists Georgi Cherkin and Victoria Vassilenko, prima ballerina of the National Opera Vessa Tonova and principal ballet dancer Rosen Kanev, jazz pianist Stanislav Arabadjiev, and the Djulia ballet studio.
Theodora von Auersperg, a Bulgarian-born Austrian princess, is dedicated to charitable causes. Her foundation, TvA, is a non-governmental organisation focused on animal care, child support, education, and cultural projects. Originally founded in Vienna, the organisation relocated its headquarters to Sofia at the beginning of 2024.
