For the first time in tennis history, two Bulgarians will compete for the title at the US Open Junior Tennis Championships. Ivan Ivanov and Alexander Vasilev will face each other in the junior final after winning their matches in the semifinals.

The Wimbledon junior champion and No. 1 seed in the tournament, Ivan Ivanov, defeated Zangar Nurlanuly (Kazakhstan) 6–1, 6–4. The Bulgarian, who trains at Rafael Nadal's academy, hit 25 winners compared to just 5 winners by his opponent.

Fifth seed and Wimbledon semifinalist Alexander Vasilev fought back from a set down to beat Luis Guto Miguel (Brazil) 2–6, 6–1, 6–0.

In less than 10 days, the exceptional Bulgarian tennis players will face their next big challenge – a Davis Cup match against Finland in the men's competition.
