A Bulgarian delegation recently visited Kyiv at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine’s ambassador to Sofia Olesya Ilashchuk said on Monday.
The group, made up of Solomon Passy, Velizar Shalamanov, Ivan Anchev, Maxim Behar, Todor Tagarev and Svetoslav Ivanov, travelled in their capacity as independent experts and civic activists.
“I express my deep gratitude to the participants in the delegation, all friends of Ukraine and my personal friends, for accepting President Zelensky’s invitation and being in Kyiv at a very difficult moment,” Ilashchuk told a news conference in Sofia marking the visit, which coincided with Ukraine’s Independence Day celebrations.
She added: “The Kremlin regime continues cynically and barbarically to kill civilians, while Ukraine, the United States, the European Union and Kyiv’s other allies are working for peace.”
Delegations from nearly 50 countries took part in the celebrations.
