Motorway Europe-A6, which is 63 kms. long, has been put into operation. Connectivity between the Orient and Western Europe is now a fact, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov said at the unveiling of the motorway. The infrastructure projects the Bulgarian citizens are expecting will be completed within our term of office, Minister Ivanov said and pointed out that the priority North-South connectivity projects should become fact soon, as that is a key commitment the cabinet has assumed and something our European partners expect.

The Europe motorway from Sofia to the border with Serbia at Kalotina was started in May 2019. Because of the political crisis and multiple successive cabinets, the construction work was delayed. The new route from Serbia to Turkiye across Bulgaria will now be along the new motorway.
