Classes in the Bulgarian Sunday School in Cairo are being resumed after a 7-year break, BTA reports.

"This is a very important cause for me, for my family, for our entire community," said the school's principal Maria Vaseva, who has taken on the task of re-establishing the Bulgarian Sunday school in the Egyptian capital together with teacher Anelia Avramova.

Vaseva notes that the revival of the school is the result of a joint effort, which includes not only the teachers, but also the team of the Bulgarian Embassy and Ambassador Deyan Katrachev.

During the 2025/2026 school year, twenty children will study Bulgarian language and literature, history and geography. The classes will be organized every Friday.
