During the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Georg Georgiev participated in a joint statement to the media alongside Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.

Bulgaria, together with the European Union, Ukraine and a number of partner countries, declared that "the international community must remain united in defending Ukraine’s freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders''. ''Our support for Ukraine remains unwavering — militarily, economically, politically and diplomatically. Only a just and lasting peace, based on international law and the UN Charter, can bring an end to this aggression. We call on all global partners to use their influence and exert maximum pressure on Russia to immediately end the war", the joint statement reads.
