Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev told a B4 meeting that EU enlargement is a natural priority for Sofia.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly, Georgiev joined counterparts from Greece, Romania and Croatia to discuss Western Balkan integration, regional connectivity and military mobility.

He said Bulgaria was pushing road and rail links, as well as energy and digital infrastructure, to boost economic and transport opportunities across the region.

Georgiev underlined the shared strategic interest in enlargement despite national differences. “I am convinced we have a common understanding of the importance of good neighbourly relations and respect for minority rights as essential elements of the accession process,” he said
