Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is interested in investing in Bulgaria, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov announced. "The discussion took place after the meeting with General Electric, during which we talked about small modular reactors. The issue of energy supply and Bulgaria’s future technological capabilities related to the construction of specialized infrastructure, the development of potential for building AI gigafactories, and, of course, attracting a strategic partner like Meta, is of utmost importance", Premier Zhelyazkov explained.

"Meta shared their investment intentions in Europe with us. This year and next, they are focusing on other countries, but after 2028, they have serious interest in Bulgaria, because of the regional opportunities the country offers", Rosen Zhelyazkov added.
